Nebula Dumplings are folded violet parcels whose filling changes from blue to purple as they steam.
Appearance
Each dumpling is folded into a three-point crescent. Mineral-rich violet flour gives the wrapper a blue tint before cooking and a deeper purple color when the filling is hot.
Filling
The standard school filling combines gravity root, night cabbage, and mild comet spice. Static Greens are served separately so their fine leaves do not collect steam inside the wrapper.
Cooking
The dumplings are steamed in signal-shielded baskets. A wrapper that remains bright blue is returned to the steamer, while an evenly purple wrapper indicates that the center is warm.
Serving
Comet Sauce is served cold for contrast. Cafeteria workers place it in a separate tray well because its berry-red color can spread quickly across the dumpling wrapper.
