Inspections
Inspectors compare baggage against a traveler's passport class and declared destination. Plant specimens are kept beneath white signal lamps until they are shown to be stable outside their home weather.
Printed newspapers are usually admitted without delay because paper records are useful during electronic failures. Blank or repeating pages are sent to the Press District for examination.
Declarations
Residents must declare living plants, weather samples, portal keys, unnamed memories, satellite parts, and more than one hundred void coins. Ordinary school lunches and sealed Cloud Milk are normally exempt.
Cooperation with other offices
The bureau shares route warnings with the Passport Office and the Nullhaven Transit Authority. During a black-sun event it may close a gate while still allowing returning residents to enter through a memory-safe corridor.
