The Void Passport Office is the Nullhaven department that identifies residents and issues documents for travel through mapped and unmapped space.
Duties
The office compares a resident's current form with school, transit, or civic records before issuing a travel document. It recognizes eye, screen, bloom, shadow, glass, and other registered body plans.
It also maintains signal visas, route stamps, name corrections, and sealed records for residents whose appearance changes during travel.
Central Records Hall
The main office has six service windows beneath clocks that display the time in different signal districts. Residents take a red queue number and wait until their number appears above a counter.
A dark circular verification field sits behind the central window. The field compares the passport seal with the holder without recording private memories.
Public service
Standard applications cost eight void coins. Students and registered lagoon restorers pay a reduced four-coin fee. Emergency replacements may be issued when a route or black-sun event damages an existing document.
